2010 Market Patio Guide
It's not summer until the patios are open, and Kensington has many to choose from. Here's a brief description of your options, working our way from south on Kensington Avenue to the top of Augusta.
Last Temptation
Kensington Ave. - Light food, Alcohol, Coffee
Eclectic local hangout with one of the larger patios. Great people watching. Good sun till early afternoon. Open late.

Kensington Ave. - Light food, Alcohol, Music
Local barflies gather on a smaller patio. Good sun till early afternoon. Open late.
Kara’s
Kensington Ave. - Light food, Alcohol, Coffee
Smallest patio in the world! Good sun late afternoon till evening. Open Late.
Moonbeam Café
St. Andrew St. - Fair Trade Coffee, loose-leaf tea, juice, smoothies
Classic private coffee shop, roasted in house, great baked goods, loyal clientele. Front and back patio. Good sun most of the day.
Hot Box Café
Baldwin St. (back of Roach o’ Rama) - Light food, Coffee, Smoothies
As close to an Amsterdam 'coffeeshop' as you can get in Toronto – walled in private back patio.
Luis Coffee Stop
Corner of Baldwin St. and Augusta Ave. - Coffee, Tea, Snacks
Corner coffee shop, great for on the run. Patio is a few bar stools on Augusta, and some bench space on Baldwin. Best corner in the Market.
Amadeu’s
Augusta Ave. - Restaurant and Bar
Tradition Portuguese and Seafood restaurant and bar with large (huge) patio. Popular.
Hungary Thai
Augusta Ave - Food, Alcohol, Coffee
Thai and Hungarian food together, at last! Small patio - good sun till early afternoon.
Sublime
Augusta Ave. - Coffee, snacks
Another great coffee shop, occasional live music and a few seats on a small patio.
The Embassy
Augusta Ave. - Light food, Alcohol
Small patio, great bar, sun early afternoon till evening. More happening here than bars ten times the size: Bands, DJs, and many theme nights.
Jumbo Empanada
Augusta Ave. - Food
Mmmm. No beer, but great Empanadas and other Central American treats on a nice patio. Have the Corn Pie!
El Trompo
Augusta Ave. - Mexican Food, Snacks, Alcohol
I visit Mexico all the time and this is where I come when I miss the taco carts. This is the real thing. Medium sized patio, sun early afternoon till evening.
La Palette
Augusta Ave. - Food, Alcohol, Coffee
Small French bistro owned/operated by those who know and care. Small patio makes for great dining. Weekend Brunch. Sun from morning till mid afternoon.
Supermarket

Tapas style food (mostly Asian) on a fair sized patio, sun from early morning till mid afternoon.
Wanda's Pie in the Sky
Augusta Ave. - Light food, Coffee
Fantastic pies and other baked goodies, a couple of tables on this corner patio. Sun from early afternoon to evening.

Amazing coffee, small crowded but cool patio with sun all day.
KOS
Nassau St. - Food, Alcohol, Coffee
All day sun on a large patio, good food, cheap-ish weekend brunch.
